What is a dental emergency?

Don’t hesitate to give us a call for:

Broken tooth: Does your child have a broken, fractured, or chipped tooth? Rinse the area gently with warm water Place a cold compress outside of the area to reduce swelling. Recover any broken tooth fragments so you can bring them to our office. Don’t wait to treat a broken tooth because it exposes the inner tooth to bacteria and infection.

Knocked out tooth: Don’t panic if a permanent tooth falls out. Recover the tooth, and holding it by the crown, rinse it very gently with water. Reinsert the tooth in its socket if possible, or place it in a container of milk. Time is essential, so bring your child into our office right away.

Toothache: Oftentimes, a toothache is your body’s way of telling you that something is wrong. Clean around the area with a toothbrush and floss. Rinse it with warm saltwater. Do not apply aspirin to the aching tooth or surrounding gum. You can apply a cold compress to reduce swelling and discomfort. Please give our office a call so we can address the problem at its source.

These are just a few of the dental emergencies and needs we address at Sierra Kids Dentistry. We work hard to keep your child comfortable and relaxed while we restore their health!
